Step up your sunset photography on this Boston skyline workshop!
East Boston, nicknamed “Eastie,” is a neighborhood in Boston that provides stunning views of the downtown skyline over Boston Harbor.
East Boston provides a few diverse views of the city, so we will meet at Piers Park Sailing Center and explore together before deciding where to settle in for sunset and the blue hour.
We will put emphasis on visualizing the image you wish you create and how best to set up to achieve your goal. Often, stunning sunset images are a composite of a series of photos taken from sunset through the blue hour from a single, fixed location.
Some great Eastie locations we have to choose from are Piers Park, LoPresti Park, Portside at East Pier, Carlton's Wharf, and other areas along the waterfront.
This workshop starts at 7:00 PM at Piers Park and runs until after the blue hour is over, roughly 20-40 minutes after sunset.
When: Meet at 7:00 PM
Where: Piers Park Sailing Center, 95 Marginal St, Boston, MA 02128.
How to prepare: This workshop requires a camera with manual controls and a tripod to get the best results. Bring your remote shutter release if you have one, though the camera's self-timer will also work.
Travel notes: Piers Park Sailing Center has a free parking lot and there is street parking in front as well. If the lot is full, try parking along the street, or on one of the side streets. Watch out for resident-only parking signs; those permits are enforced.
