Autumn in Shenandoah National Park

Your instructors on this workshop will be Aaron Bieber and Christopher Blake. Read about them here.

Shenandoah Nat’l Park

Shenandoah National Park, draped across the apex of the Blue Ridge Mountain range in Virginia, offers hundreds of miles of vistas and overlooks to rival any other park in America. The cool, crisp October air will heighten your experience of untouched valleys bursting with autumnal color.

Rely on the expert guidance of two professional photography instructors on this three-day excursion that will teach you technology, theory, and aesthetics. Tap into a combined twenty years of photography experience, learn how to take advantage of your own camera’s features, and see things in new ways with our help.

Our workshops are casual; learn at your own pace, work one-on-one or with the group to address your questions and push your skills to the next level.

Basic Schedule

Our workshops go like this:

Equipment

We teach primarily digital photography, though film is welcome. At least a modest, entry-level SLR camera is required to get the most out of this trip.

A good quality tripod is strongly recommended. All other accessories are up to you.

Weather

Expect temperatures 10-15 degrees cooler in the high Blue Ridge Mountains than what you would experience in the valley. Dress in layers and be prepared for predicted conditions; check the forecast before packing!

We will send e-mails to all registered participants in the weeks leading up to the workshop with important information about our specific itinerary, contact information, meeting places, and so on.
